The University of Queensland Bicycle User Group (UQ BUG) is an organisation of cyclists,
representing the interests of the number of UQ staff and students who ride bicycles to, from and within the University of Queensland campuses.

The group has over 200 members, and potentially advocates on behalf of several hundred regular cyclists.

UQ BUG was established in early 2007 to:

  • represent the interests of The University of Queensland cycling community.
  • promote cycling as both commuting and social activity options for UQ staff and students.
  • strive to engage the relevant parties to build and maintain a pro-active approach to providing adequate facilities and infrastructure for cyclists commuting to The University.

The UQ BUG seeks sponsorship from organisations wishing to share capital, goods, or services to help celebrate with those from the local community choosing to ride to The University on “Queensland or National Ride to Work Days”.

Membership of UQ BUG is free.
